Default Alpha One Gen 2 upper swifel shaft leak

The upper swivel shaft on my 92 Alpha 1 Gen. 2 leaks water into the boat.

Not much but while on board this area is below waterline and I get about 1/4 gallon of water a day.

Any recommendations on how the replace the seal/shaft would be appreciated, especially on how to get to the nut that attaches the steering arm to the swifel shaft from inside the boat.
A while ago I read about a reapir kit (with speciel wrench ?), but cant find the details on that anymore.

However I think I would not like to drill the 2 access holes into the gimbal hsg. as Mercruiser suggests.

Also Is there a quick, temporary fix while spending vaca on the boat ?

take care, Tom

No quick fix while on vacation.Call JR Marine in Ohio at 440-946-8717 and talk to Ron. They have a kit and the tools to do it without pulling the engine that works well.
