H.P rating for bravo x

What is the Max H.P a Bravo X drive can handle? I was told that they were made with heavy duty upper gears that keep the floor from breaking out. Is this true? Are there any other differnces? I need to upgrade but not sure if this will work for me, just cant afford an XR.

I ran an X upper and IMCO XR lower behind 620HP with no problems.

The HP rating is 450. When I bought my boat(28' Active Thunder), there was a Bravo X behind the 525 EFI. The boat originally had a 496 HO and the old owner never swapped out the drive. Active Thunder told me the X would be fine, but I upgraded to an XR for peace of mind. I recently sold the X, which had been my spare for a few years.
