#3 drive spacers

Is there spacers for the #3 drive?

Yes I think there are. Maybe Bam can help you.

Yes we have some. But you may have to change out the vertical shaft. Call us at 954 237 0332

I don't think that I have ever seen a spacer for a #3 drive, let alone a "longer" vertical shaft. I would like to see either of these.

I AGREE !!!!! never seen any of both or heard of them !:party-smiley-004:

OK, I'll bite. Why would you want a #3 to go any lower that it already is? It already runs mostly submerged, which isn't ideal for the cleaver props.

You'd be much better off with a little bigger propeller, or a different rake angle if you are looking to change bow lift characteristics.

The other thing you could do is add extension boxes or notch out the hull/transom. That will have a similar effect of making the drives run a little deeper.

Back in the day Kiekheafer (when it was a seperate company before the Mecury purchase) made a non-torsional shaft that was longer. I seem to remember spacers too.

Back then there were not very many prop choices.

I started work at Lake X in 1985 just as Mercury was chopping down III's in preparation for the release of the IV drive. I've built a few of those welded III's myself and installed some Yo-Yo blocks (spacers) as well.

P.S. Set the way back machine Mr. Peabody. LoL

P.P.S. If you're under 50 you may not recognize that line. LoL

Yes Kiekaefer sold a complete kit with longer front vertical shaft. I still have some. If interested call; 954 237 0332

I stand corrected. I did not realize that there was such a kit.
