Run either the Severe Gear 75w90 or the AGM Marine Gear Lube 75w/80w-90.

I was recomened to not use the "marine" gear for my SSM 5's. It says high performance on the bottle, but not the type of HP that we are talking about. I run the amsoil severe gear 75w90 per Teague's recomendation. I only have have one light season on the drives but it seems to be working well for me.

These are NXT's similar to #6 dry sumps. In merc its Super+ gear lube, Amsoil is perhaps the same as a #6 ??

What Amsoil product in my SSM III?

offshorexcursion 09-19-2011 09:40 PM

severe gear

I was at a amsoil dealers home today and he has signed pics of Bob Teague and the amsoil cat all over his shop.

He also claims bob runs amsoil motorcyle oil in his drives!

the 75/90 severe gear? Should I also add the Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer? I believe my outdrives hold almost 10 quarts a piece. DANG!!!
