swapping to a bravo can only help the resale. There are tons of good reasons to swap it out. Weight savings, servicability, better balance, more room in the bilge, resale just to name a few. I cannot think of a single plus to leaving the TRS in.

What kind of boat is it? Keep in mind, to convert from a TRS, you will need to reglass the transom. You will also have to relocate engines, and set the proper drive height. Going to a bravo would usually net a top speed gain, if its rigged properly. As for balance of the boat, that can go either way. The old cigarette cafe's and top guns were better balanced with TRS/Speedmasters than bravos.

Probably depends how much you want to spend, and how much work you want to do. If you stay with the TRS, try to run a Left Hand drive. They are stronger than a right hand.

I agree with Mild Thunder -- is it a 20' Cig? then yes bravo would be a benefit, 38 ft top gun/ flatdeck -- bravo = going backwards as far as strength and lots more money to convert.

What would be the cost to convert to a Bravo with used parts?
I was thinking $6000 to 8000 range if you did all the work yourself
Maybe $10000 to 12000 if you paid to have it done by a shop.

And, if resale is a concern, will the boat bring in that much more money because you did a bravo conversion?

If it were me, I'd probably enjoy the boat the way its set up. Not worth all the hassle/rigging imo. Either drive will be fine from a power standpoint. If its a boat you really love and plan to keep for a long time, than i'd say modify it to your likings. But if you think you may change boats a few years down the line, enjoy it with the hardware you have already. :drink:

Stellings made a stand off box to bolt a bravo to a TRS bolt pattern on the transom, will save the glass work.

what does one cost and is the proformance better with standoff box
also how work is involved in the engine area
