454 knock sensor position
 

Hi Guys i have a problem with the position of my knock sensor.
The issue is when i put on the exhaust manifold it crushes the knock sensor does anyone have some pictures of how far it should be screwd in so this dosent occur?

most all knock sensors go in the blind hole right above the drain hole or you can actually screw them in the drain hole or t-off the drain hole with the drain plug in the bottom,hope this helps

its the coolant temperature sender im having issues with.

I am convering the engine from the carby verson to a EFI will i need this sender anymore?

What you are hitting is the tmp sensor. It is screwed into the head. remove it and plug the hole. You will not use that style sensor any more if converting to EFI nor that location.

ahh thanks for that that makes me a bit more relived as i just bought a very expensive manifold
