Engines are a beauty. Made for the IPS system right? Which is why your wondering about the trim?
I wonder why Volvo sometimes paints them white instead of green like this? |
Peter,
your install is absolutely beautiful ! your detail in your work is like nothing i've seen. i'm curious about a few things in your install. 1. are you going to use the super chargers ? didn't you remove them in your last configuration ? 2. are you using volvo's shift actuators or have you found a way to bypass them? 3. well the evc-d's talk to an ecu out of an inboard motor ? you mentioned trim , i was under the impression trim was handled by the evc's please keep us upto date. p.s. i'm hoping to visit my daughter at her university in Brighton soon , if possible would love to see your boat in person. |

I wonder why Volvo sometimes paints them white instead of green like this? In England they seem to paint all their engines up to about 500hp green and above that horsepower white, will answer trim question on next post. All The Best Peter |

We are using super chargers this time round because the turbos are much larger and as we sometimes go out in extremely rough conditions the engines wouldn't have enough torque to climb the big swells without the superchargers. 2. We are using volvo shift actuators, as by rebuilding them myself i can make them very reliable. 3. My ECU wizard says he can change serial numbers and match all the components so that the 435 will think its a stern drive package. It would be great to see you in England when you come over to visit your daughter we are only about 60 miles from Brighton my number is 07974182330 we are usually here Thursday - Sunday every week. Hi All,
Started fabrication of the exhaust risers and cool collars, risers will be ceramic coated and i am making a mould for the tails so we can make them in carbon fibre as they go right through the bathing platform they would be very heavy in stainless. Peter |
Hi All,
made all a little more progress with the exhausts, had a mock up with cardboard, fibreglass and stainless steel, i then brought them back to work and used filler to form the transition between the round stub and the oval pipe. Pictures to follow Peter |

Its a shame that beautiful carbon is somewhat hidden.
