Need drive help on a warlock project.

I am new to this site and I was wondering if I could get some information on what would be the best drive and prop. I have a warlock 29 world class and I will be using a cummins ISB Engine the engine has about 600 horsepower and 1200 Lb ft of torque. What drives will take that kind of torque? And is there a prop that would work with only being able to turn 3500 max. Thanks

You are going to need at least a BMax or SCX to handle the torque unless you go with a SSM6 and trans. You are going need a huge pitch prop and the boat is probably gonna idle at 12-15 mph.
The other option is a 2 speed trans and #6 drive or Arneson.

You are looking at probably 20-40k.

I have that same boat. Neat project. A friend o mine does tons with that motor for the military. We talked about how to make it work in a light single like mine but just seemed like the wrong cOmbo. Whats your reason for doing it? Do you travel long distances?

What you want to run on that thing is an ASD#8-6 and a two speed tranny. For the diesels to work well, you need prop speed and a shiftable transmission, so you can get up on plane. With 1200 lbs. forget any kind of Bravo drive, whether it being Bmax, IMCO, Konrad ect. Get something efficient, the ASD#8-6 rated for 1500 ft.lbs.

i have a bmax if you can use it i will take 3000.00 for all the bmax stuff i have 405-640-1491

bmax holds up pretty well as long as you dont kill it from take off

Yes, this is possible but the engine will make or break the project. What motor is delivering 600 hp? QSC8.3? QSB5.9 boosted? The power and propeller are not a problem as it is all down to the combination of each.

With the Arneson you get a warranty as this is an easy application.

go arneson or don't waste your time with the project!

Keep us updated though with lots of pics! I love diesel go fast boats!

600 hp out of a 5.9 cummins B series? they have a rep for having short lifespans at 350 hp.
