should my boat have exhaust bellows?
Ok working on my 94 scarab 29ft twin 350 alpha 1 gen 2 drives. Doing gimbal ring with jr marine kit. Getting ready to start putting back together and noticed I got exhaust bellow but there wasn't one when I took it appart. Other drive does not have one either but the peice coming out of transom looks like it has a little part of an old one? Silent choice exhaust. Do I need it? Don't I? Advantages? Disadvanteges?

Nope, won't hurt a thing. Bellows are not normally used for exhaust any longer. (at least from what I have seen). The boot is a better deal. It mates up nicely when the drive is down and you still get thru-hub exhaust that way. When you bring it up, you are not stretching a bellows. Win-win. No advantage or disadvantage. Just different method of directing your exhaust to the hub and less wear/tear on parts (i.e. no exhaust bellows to worry about).
