bravo one broke who knows what
ok so coming from running the boat the last two weekends with no problems we started out the day thinking it would be another worry free day when we were on plane for about 5 mins and the motot redlined and suddenly the nose dove down...boat is hard to put into gear and nothing happens...thought i spun a prop hub but turns out its something internal...before i start this journey any input would be a plus...what should i be looking for besides a broken drive shaft or stripped out spline coupling? it is a bravo one high performance drive with 502 mag on 25 outlaw..thanks everyone

Sorry to hear that! Welcome to the Broken Bravo club. What part of the country are you in?

first. with the eng running or cranking look at the eng coupler which will be turning. and try to see if the drive input shaft is turning or not. if its not (blown coupler) the drive will be very hard to shift because the gears are not turning. probley cheapest thing that could be wrong. good luck...

well i hope its nothing too too serious but im going to start tearing down tomorrow...kinda new to the whole drive thing coming from jet drives...im in lake charles louisiana ....thanks for all you guys help ill keep you posted

Pull the top magnet and look for metal flakes and chunks. If there are none.. then see if the input shaft is turning with the flywheel/coupler. If it is.. then pull the drive and see if the ujoints are intact. If they are, then it is internal.
If the serial number begins with OL or earlier, you could have punched the floor out of the fwd gear. If SN begins with OM or newer.. then it could be worse.. With the drive removed, turn the input shaft by hand, if you feel any binding or grinding.. well time to pull the top and back caps. If things are broken inside, you should see metal on the magnet. Also spin the propshaft.. see if you feel any binding.. Let us know what you find. Advise will come from the results.. Hope that helps. Dick |
roughwater i hope you are right i havent gotten a chance to look at it yet but you gave me a little bit of hope haha...either way i will let you know...also 4195 i may be interested...email me at [email protected]

If boat is still I the water look down behind motor where input shaft meets bell housing. See if you see shiny metal splinters down there if so could be coupler. You may have to put hand down there if its dry and powdery maybe coupler
