Standard Bravo lower vs IMCO -2...

I know this has probably been addressed before but buried in other threads but I will pose the question anyway.

I had switched a few years ago to a Stelling extension box set in the middle position (roughly 1" higher than stock) and an IMCO 2" shortened lower. The gains were minimal, maybe 1-1.5 mph. The next season I added more power and that added 10 MPH. From older posts, others have suggested that the gains from IMCO or a nose cone in general do not come till the boat hits the "80 MPH" threshhold....I think this not a scentific number but just what others think. So in my situation, and the boat not being at the 80 MPH mark, am I losing more with the IMCO? It does get my prop shaft height higher in the water but does the the added drag negate the gain? I will have chance to test all of this back to back but it wont be for quite some time yet. Just trying to get some thoughts from others at this point.
