How to tell if new transom assy. will have remote drive fluid passage?? Thanks in advance. Project is getting closer. R.

Andrew,
That option has been incorportated in the transom assy since 89 or 90. I would think any new one would include it. I cant see merc selling one without it. Are you getting a new one and what was it for, do you have the part number for it??

Mr. Sorry I didn't read all your post. I am repowering, removing tired 1988 350 mag alpha with a SHP Madara stroker, bravo. It has been an exciting as well as $$$$ adventure. Getting anxious, water temps up to 72*. Thanks again for sharing. R.

then newer assemblies will have 2 dimples on the top of the bell housing where the drive bolts to..

Mr Gadgets 04-22-2012 09:34 AM

Andrew,
Bam lists 6-6311002NZ as a replacement for All, except 496 and Digital Throttle/Shift. I am sure it will have the passage for the bottle.
I would have chosen the Merc HP transom assy.. 6-6511002NZ. It has the better hinge pin setup.
