i can see that. prop torque opposite of engine torque...of course a thinner girlfriend might also help without having to re-prop...

Now the not so good part for me. The motor/OD had about 175 hours on it running a RH prop. About 10 hours after switching to a LH prop my drive self destructed.

Coincidence? Who knows? People say you can spin a bravo either way. But, I wonder if it gets broken in RH, the gears develope a wear pattern. There are different schools of thought on this issue.

Have heard people claim that to be the case, but I don't see how, specifically if it is a gear related failure. The gears won't be broken in on the back sides, They should be pretty much like new, unless one spends alot of time running in reverse at full speed. I'd think you'd more likely double the life expectancy if the gears by switching them around. Not counting the upper drive gear since it always rotates same direction regardless of prop selection. Now I can see the shafts possibly taking on a slight twist, and then being twisted the other direction when drive is setup in reverse rotation.
Or the drives just fail w/o warning sometimes.

But left rotation prop is turning same rotation as engine.
