Trs gimbal studs galled to inner transom assembly, help!!!!
 

Well I went to pull my gimbal off last night to replace the gasket and the bottom two studs are galled to the inner transom assembly and refuse to budge. All the nuts, washers and bolts came off just fine.

So I soaked the 2 studs down with wd40 and beat on the end of the stud with a deadblow hammer as to not screw up the threads and nothing. we tried prying a little with a pry bar at the same time and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this apart?

I have run into this in the past, one way is to use a stud extractor, to turn the stud coming through transom, or double lock it with nuts. You may also have to heat the stud boss on the housing to free it. Plan on ordering new studs, that being the case.

You sure the gimble assembly isn't just stuck to the transom real tight at the bottom. Is it loose at all from the transom? What about the inner transom plate? Is it loose at the top? If I remember correctly the holes in the inner transom plate are oblong. If you can get the top loose then pulling outward on it should break loose the bottom. However outside on the gimble assemble don't try that. It must come straight out if all the holes were drilled correctly at the factory which I'm sure they were.

Yeah I stuck a putty knife spatula thing up between to make sure it wasnt glued. I can hit the other 6 bolts with the dead blow and they are loose but the bottom two dont even budge.
