I think he meant $14,000 each, but something must have changed since then because I have checked several sources and they all are about the same, $12,000 for the upper only, helmet, and reservoir

Thats what IMCO quoted me directly. $12K for the Helmat, Upper, Resevoir and cplr for Merc Shortie Lower. Can save 5-10% through a dealer depending on what they will share. I'm changing over this winter. Tired of fixing XR's.

I have never owned a Max Machine XR but I can tell you I have 55hrs on my SCX/SC combo behind a 900lb ft blower motor and not a hiccup due to drive issues. It sure feels good not to constantly be thinking drive is gonna blow, drive is gonna blow, drive is gonna blow every time you plane off.

Formulaok, if I read that correct you felt the price of IMCO drives are expensive? Well have you priced the Max machine worx drive that is a band aid on top of xr gears?

(honestly all drives are expensive, sucks!)

Been meaning to start a thread about it but been boating so much with this HOT summer have not had time!

Rebuilt my Imco Extreme SC's and bought a 40ft cruiser for backup when they break next time!

I like the looks, speed, handling, and stength gain they offer

Have 17 hard hours (boyne thunder etc) so far running amsoil severe gear 75/110. Changed fluid at 5 hours, and baby the sticks while throttling up or down.

I will start a thread soon in the Baja section with lots of pics!
