-3 to Bravo Drive

As many of you may know, anything shorter than a -2 on a Bravo drive creates a definite clearance problem and limits prop selection. Thought I would share some modifications I made to my Bravo to show what can be done with a little time and effort. I've seen a few threads on this topic but nobody has really detailed the process they took other than bolt on an aftermarket cavitation plate. I wanted a "factory" look and you can see the steps I took at the link below. A little welding and body work and I'll be done.

Nice work! What year is your boat and what power are you running?
I see that you run the same prop as me (although I run a stock 24").
Please post the results once completed.

John at the Bravo Shop does something similar. He reconnects the cav plates back together at an angle.

If you need the cav plate to get on plane I think you will have to fill in between the 2 or it will suck air from the front. Please post how it works.

I mocked up a few pieces but didn't like the way they looked so decided to try it like this for starters. It won't be a big deal to add them later, if necessary. I'll know more this weekend.

It stays as it is. Have to feather it a bit to get on top but no real issues. Seems to work real well and I have no issues.

Thanks for posting the results, glad it all worked out for you!
