How to free up drive indicator?
 

I can move the plastic ram by hand but it is very stiff. Wondering if it is the cable or the ram. When i am trimmed all the way down the indicator works, however when i trim up it only comes out an inch or 2 and stops there, so i am not getting a true reading on my drive indicator at the helm. Is there a way to help free up the cable or if it is in the ram should i take it apart and lube it with something? Thanks for any info.

It is probably the cable. I have had the same trouble - havn't found a good way to lube the cables.

+1 on the cable, you will likely find it all rusted about 6 inches in from water intrusion.

Found this guy http://www.cpperformance.com/p-13610...eme-cable.aspx 20' for 50 bucks works for me, might need slightly more though, gonna pull the old one out this fall and measure it.

Look on the ends of the cable, there should be a number like 240 which is the length in inches.

My port side was doing the same thing. No amount of spraying took care of the problem. Had to replace the cable. There were two qualities of available cables. Only about $5 extra to get the better cable.

where did you purchase the cable from?
