Problems with my Bravo 3 drive

Whats up guys,

I just bought a 38 fountain express with 496's with bravo 3 drives. I took it out for a spin this morning and after about a half hour, when i tried putting it into forward gear it wouldnt engage unless i gave it a bit of throttle but it engages fine when i put it into reverse. Anyone have a clue whats going on?
