Marina cracked my lower drive
I broke a prop shaft on my Bravo 1x a couple of weeks ago so I upgraded to the IMCO 1.25 shaft. I had to have a marina install it because of ins. reasons. When I left the marina 2 days ago they had to overnight the right spanner socket because they only had one that fit over a 1" shaft, The drive was together and all they had to do was tighten the drive up... Got a call yesterday that they cracked the housing. I have to call today and see what we can get together to get the weekend out of it.. What could have gone wrong ??

where on the housing did it crack, prob just chipped the end where they were beating on it with a hammer and prybar to tighten it up, i keep thinking in my head where they could had cracked it and still dont see how.

From what they tell me it cracked on the side, It is no longer usable ..

You should have not posted that here and had it added to your insurance claim as "hidden damage".:party-smiley-004:

I'm not the one footing the bill for this

if you dont have the rite tools, a hammer and prybar will work, makes the lock nut look like crap tho.

He had the tool, He had to order the right one... They gave me a loaner drive for the weekend. It only has the pickups on the sides none on the cone .. But it will get me going..

Fork truck incident? Thats happened before.

they most likely cracked it from torquing down the retainer nut,,most likely did not use 101 on the retainer and it bound up and cracked the side when it slipped out of the fixture..
