where is the best or proper place to hook up a water pressure gauge to get a proper reading? also what psi should i be looking for? htm ss24 with n/a bbc engine. thx

I have mine plumbed in the front of the intake cross overs next to the t-stat opening.

Running IMCO lowers. I see 6-10psi at crusing speeds and peaks at 15-17psi @ WOT(100-105mph).

I would say keep the pressure under 20psi, they say too much PSI can overwelm engine gaskets, I guess thats possible. Automotive radiator caps are 16psi, so thats a good reference.

I had a 5/8 inch hose feeding my intercoolers and my pressure was at least 5psi lower then it is now. I reduced the intercooler feed hose to 1/2in and pressures fell right into place.

Moroso makes t-stat restrictor plates which can aid in tuning your pressures.

Runnig a cat and I'm guessing higher speeds, you may need a way to lower your pressures, and not raise them like I did.
