I ran the MMW full billet drive for 6 years. Motor made in the beginning 1100 & in the end 1250. The set up was in a Howard Bullet with not overly aggressive X-Dimension. I changed oil in the drive every trip out /checked my magnets. I used to change out the lower gears between 40-60 hours. Never changed an upper gear! Yes the lower is extremely fast!! I would call Aaron & Jason there great guys that have a awesome product. And you wont find any better customer service in the business.

how many hrs total do you think were put on the drive in 6 years? im impressed especially with never having to change the upper gears.

There is a nice single arneson asd 7 in the classifieds I bet you could get a good deal on. You could run bravo or surface style props. Have more strength then ANY drive that still uses XR gears.
Or go with the SCX or SCX-4 since they use larger gears MMW are just to expensive IMO for still being a bravo based drives with junk gears in them Good luck either way you go and we look forward to hearing how it all turns out |
