I wish someone would have sole my old drive. :drink: My brand new XR doesn't have any numbers on it either. Must be under the decal.

If it was built from scratch, there wont be a serial number.. Only the factory built ones have it. A replacement case doesnt.

I bought mine brand new from Victory Marine in factory carton. No number on outside. Probably under the sticker.

Merc stamps them in the side of the case on the sticker.. Sometimes they show up after you remove the sticker, sometimes not. Depends on the hammer the guy uses that morning. If the stickers were replaced, it could be under the sticker, not likely though. The stickers are made of gold and are priced as such. I would hate to remove one and not see anything under it.
I dont know when that number is fixed to the drive. I believe the transom assy has a simial number, so they may be stamped as the go out the door??? It might be the Victory gets replacement drives without sn#'s.. Just speculating. I really dont know for sure. But on the sticker is the only place I have seen sn#'s. Not like a car, where the frame and inside the heater box.. etc. Sorry you got ripped off.. Hate that! Hope that helps.. |
