what prop have you tried so far?

I first had a blackhawk on it but got 24% slip whit 29 stock props and still did 95 on the gps but due to the lack of props and the hard shift at 900 rpm wich is not so strange but whit the big duo props its a very hard boom !

So now I have the imco sc -3"short and have run a few bravo s and a maximus but that was a real big one I want to try the chopper 2 because the hull I have is normaly outboard and whit the outboards it runs best whit a chopper

fastest whit the sc is 96 whit a 28 bravo @6100 rpm and very easy to drive almost as whit the Blackhawk

mcprodesign 11-17-2012 12:03 PM

I would think a 30 chopper would be good to try. I am excited to see this result..What hull?

bor 11-17-2012 01:13 PM

It s a 21 phantom UK build normaly outboard but we convert it to inboard and put in a custom build 406 LS small block pushing 560 hp @6100 and 550ft/lbs tq from 3100

http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/...1/IMG_0834.jpg

Here you can find a few vids whit the all test drives first we started whit a regular bravo 1X which was 5.5" below the bottom still ran 92 mph but quite tricky then the blackhawk whit a nice rooster and as on rails to 95 mph and finaly the imco -3"
whit a 28 bravo also ran whit the 32 maximus of the diesel hustler and the little ls got it to 90 mph and 5000 rpm !!
Now a 28 chopper 2 on the way to try .

You kiwis are nuts:lolhit: where is the propshaft? Even w the bottom or below??.. Cool boat !

bor 11-17-2012 02:45 PM

It s 2" below the bottom hoping to hit the triple s feels like there s more left because it s real easy to get it to 96 and doesn t matter if there s some chop or waves from other boats the hull just eats them ,I love it nice little man 's toy :daz:

especially on the dock when you turn the key or pass some big boats at 80 or so :eekdrop:

mcprodesign 11-18-2012 08:11 PM

Can't wait to see the result. When do yo think you will be trying it? We are botth looking for 100 :)

I ll hope to get the prop next week and if the weather allows it gonna try it asap but the forecast says it gonna freeze next week ,but long as there s no ice in the water we go and the cold give a few extra hp !

chopper test

Went out today ,it was pretty cold 39 F and lots of rain this morning but cleared for a few hours this afternoon so got the boat and go testing as it could be the last time this year !

It came quite normal on plane slightly longer as whit the bravo so that s not bad as it have a blade less and felt good

got it up to 91 mph @ 6000 rpm but at that point when trimming a bit more up the prop blows out .

it gives quite a bit more bow lift as the boat is more out the water now so that s good and what I wanted but the 28 stock bravo 1 is still the fastest but that was whitout the 1" spacer .

the next step I want to do is get the spacer out and look what that does ,as that was the fastest set up whit the 28 bravo .

here s the vid of this afternoon not to good whit the phone

The boat looks really hooked up nice!! Is the bow where you want it in the video? looked good from here. Too much trim just puts the front of the nose cone down thus creating more drag right? Thank you for sharing !!

professor_speed 12-02-2012 10:51 PM

Boat is looking good have you thought about running a pro et? that would be 4 blade like the bravo 1 but be the profile of the chopper. I would be looking to get that prop if it were me. also Hoss props will be making chopper props for the blackhawk in the spring.

JRider 12-03-2012 08:21 AM

Interesting, I picked up an offshore outboard over-hub style 4 blade cleaver to run on an XR. I have often wondered why more people do not run small hub style props on bravo style drives.

I think the don t do it because there usually are smaller in diameter and you lose quite some blade area behind the bullet which is bigger as the outboard ones .

However it run good no strange things and give the lift I wanted but the bravo was quicker so I think I go for a customized bravo from bblades .

Professor, I have looked at it but I m a little afraid it will give to much stern lift ,will discuss it whit bblades .
I wish someone have one to try but there are not many props available in europe !

yep I live in the wrong country !
