bravo one tools

A couple weeks ago I found that my starboard side bravo one lower was cracked due to water intrusion that froze. I removed the drive as a whole and separated the upper and lower, I found a used case from a member on here and now need to swap everything over.
I have a mercruiser service manual for bravo one, and I need to order a seal kit. What special tools do I NEED to have to do this job?
I wanna swap the lower over and take apart the upper to inspect it and replace with new seals.

Or is their anyone in the Fox Lake IL area that could help me out with dis assembly, or the use of their tools?

Here's one other option for you to consider while comparing cost of buying tools, etc,
http://www.sterndrive.cc/mm5/merchan...ercruiserBravo

Inside your service manual you should be able to find a list of tools used to complete the job correctly. For example, in service manual number 11, look on page 3B-3, it should look like this,

DESCRIPTION PART NUMBER
Dial Indicator Set 91-58222A1
Backlash Indicator Rod 91-53459
Dial Indicator Adaptor Kit 91-83155
Slide Hammer Puller 91-34569A1
Torque Wrench (lb. in.) 91-66274
Drive Shaft Pinion Gear Shimming Tool 91-42840
Bearing Carrier Retainer Nut Wrench 91-61069
Bearing Carrier and Bar Puller 91-90338A1
Clamp Plate 91-43559
Drive Shaft Adaptor Tool 91-56775
Universal Puller Plate 91-37241
Bearing Seal Driver 91-89868
Threaded Rod 91-31229
Bearing Driver 91-89867
Bearing Carrier Seals and Bearing Cup
Driver
91-89865
Bearing Cup Driver 91-31106
Bearing Cup Driver 91-67443
Driver Rod 91-37323
Bearing Removal Tool 91-63638
Bearing Adaptor Installation Tool 91-18605A2

Of course this will depend on what year, model, and serial number of your stern drive you have to know what service manual you'll need/have.;)

Hope this helps you out some, good luck.:)

Call George at Marine Performance in Ingleside, Il which is basically Fox Lake. He's just east of Ben Watts Marina 630-240-5401.

I have a pretty complet set of bravo and Blackhawk tools that I accumulated over the years. Mostly eBay finds. I have had good luck and bad luck on my rebuilds. The last two times I have lost the drives rather soon after my rebuilds. The worste one only lasted a couple hours. Drive was fragged so bad it locked up. Trashed the upper and lower because the cost of the parts was to high to justify. Found a NOS drive on eBay. Short story is that if you work on the drive yourself ... Well let's just say it might be better to send it in somewhere or you better be able to deal with the consequences.
