How to tell which drive is port or starboard

I pulled my TRS's couple months ago and can't remember which one went on which side. Is there a way to tell which is LH or RH?

If you turn the input shaft the same direction your engine turns you can tell if you know which direction your props were turning, in or out.

Prop Shaft should be stamped on the end of one of them.

As C_D says the prop shafts should be stamped on the end. Like Randy says turing the input shafts will tell you the rotation. If the input & output turn opposite = RH drive, the same = LH drive.

Most likely the LH drive is the port. That is the most common, with the props spinning out.

Do not get the props mixed up !!

Lmao did that the first time I put the engines in the Velocity and wanted to do a shake down before a Poker Run.

Drove it right back up the trailer haha.

I remember which prop goes on whcih side, the even number prop goes on the starboard and the odd number stamped on the prop goes on the port. So if I turn the input shafts the same direction then one should turn one direction and the other the opposite direction???

Also, back to sanding and painting the drives what's a good grit to start and finish with and how important is it to get all the old paint off?

that is 30 year old aluminum that is not available new any more. don't go too crazy sanding them.
