Shortening skeg 1"
 

Should I?

The SCX-4 skeg extends 1" deeper into the water than my old -1 Bravo lowers.
Others have put -2 Bravo lowers on the same boat with no problems.

I read an article where Warby took 1" off the rudder and gained speed and handling.....of course, that's at 400 mph!:lolhit:

Eddie took 2 inches off my -4s and said he couldl have maybe taken off more , the -4s are extremely long .

Where's your propshaft relative to the bottom of the hull?Handles/steers good?

We have 2 inch spacers in there now which I believe it brings it back to propshaft about an inch above the bottom he said it handles great but waiting for better weather to try 2 more sets of props, trying to get the ass end of the boat up he says the 18 degree props are too much . we might go back to the one inch spacer to see if the prop blowout comes back , Eddie also did ALLOT of shaping to the lowers .

Are you going to 16 rake then? I've got 5 bl 17" 35 16*
I need to go to 37

I believe he is trying 17/37/16 and i dont remember the other set , I know they are less rake , now i have 17/37/18 which he says is burying the ass end .

Let me know when you're done with the 37. What speed did you get with the 38? I got 104 out of one.

I dont have any 38s.

Oops, meant 37, got 102 with one, 104 with a 38

were still bouncing around 115 but dealing with 20+ prop slip and previous prop blowout issues and still havnt had a chance to wring it out . have you tried 6 blades yet?
