Trs drives

Friend just got a 85 scarab has trs's on it.Instead if having the 330 on them the drives have 500 on the upper housing not sure what it means I know the 330 meant horsepower but does the 500 also mean the horsepower they came on.If so what engine would that of been????. JOHN SR

Saw something online about a 88' Cig w/ 500hp hawkes with TRS drives. Not sure what kind of motors those are but looks like they put some descent power behind them besides 330's. Does it run good?
