I found this and figured I would share it. There are probably other details that are not included in this summary but this is a start.

Hey, I read your post about what happened to your gimbal housings, Chitty deal. One of the reasons I'm so paranoid about taking the boat anywhere for any kind of service. No one seems to give a chit about your stuff and whether its safe on their property e.t.c. If it was locked up inside somewhere thats different but anything sitting outside seems to be open season. I hope you can get replacements thru insurance or at least find a good deal. I HATE THEIVES!!!

Duh!! Thanks...BTW...do you know what year the change was made in the upper gears from press in to threaded?

lakematdude 03-31-2013 09:08 PM

There is a threaded Steel lower Bearing chimney Adapter for the Bravo X, XZ, XR and Diesel Bravos that came out in 2000. Year 2000 had most of the changes, gears included.

Standard bravo had an aluminum chimney machined to a shorter height to allow for narrower needle bearing races.

Check your P.M box.
