slack with shifter lever on bravo xr

Here is my problem: i got too much slack on the drives shifting lever.the cables are new. The pivot bolt on the engine seems to work good as well, looks like theres something loose in the drive?!?
I have 2 x 500efi with xr's
Thank you !

Check shift lever assembly where the two pices pivot, hole get elongated and pin gets worn

Ok ill take a look at that again, isnt possible that the slack is coming from inside the drive?

The cable from the transition block to the drive connects to the shift lever in the drive. It is located with a spring and detent ball. The cable should not show any slack because of the detent ball. You could try and remove the lower cable from the transition block and see if there is play. Don't try to shift the drive without the input shaft turning. There should not be any play in the cable that goes to the drive.
Hope that helps.
