Brovo 1 coupler aliemant

Hi everyone...

I have a 33 Outlaw and I removed my drives to check my alinement with he coupler and I can't get the tool to go into either of the couplers.

In 2009 I spun a coupler on on my starboard engine. So, I bought the alinement tool ( from BAM Marine) and was able to get both drives perfectly alined! We could move the greased up tool in and out with no sticking and with the touch of two fingers!

Thought I would check the alinement once again, and the tool won't go into the splines at all !!!!!

We were pulling the Port engine for "other issues" and tried the alinement before pulling the engine out.

These are the same couplers we alined before.

Does anyone have any idea what os going on???

After the engine was out we tried to insert the tool, but it won't go in.

Thanks for anything anyone may know that could help.......

So with the motor sitting on the shop floor the tool still will not go into the coupler? That would eliminate the gimble bearing being out of alignment. Do you have a pic of the coupler splines?

did you somehow ding the leading edge of the alignment bar?

Sounds like the coupler splines are pushed up and sharp, was there any grease left on the input shaft when you pulled the drive?
