XR Performance Rebuild?
Broke forward in a stock XR sweptback. Looking to find an experienced rebuilder in FL. Also what upgrades, if any, will prolong the life of the drive?

X2 Gaylen Wyley at Speedmasters inc. in Deltona, I've known Gaylen for thirty plus years and he is as sharp as they come. Tell 'em Warren from Sarasota sent ya.
He mainly builds speedmasters and is a perfectionist when it comes to drives. I'd like to build it for you but you specified 100 miles so Gaylen is the clear winner here and a top notch builder Here's his webb sight. http://www.speedmasters-inc.com/ Also when it comes to upgrades, listen to him. He'll tell you what works and whats a waste of money. Warren |
LOL! Yeah, I know Scott. He really pays attention to detail and charged a fair price. Rebuilt a couple for me and did a good job. I feel that after I break an XR its the crappy new gears. He did a rebuild for me a while back and polished everything in the drive related to shifting and it shifts like butter and engages real nice.
Good guy... |
Thanks guys.

Looks like it will cost north of $5Gs to fix my broken XR swepback upper. I look at BAM and 100% new XR upper is just under $6500. Sure seems to me that the new unit is a better route. What are the pros and cons of going with a rebuilt v/s new unit?
