Bravo LWP nose cone kit loose problems - refix or remove?

2 Attachment(s)
I have a nose cone fitted to my LWP Bravo 1 drive. After the last run I noticed some cracks in the bonding (picture 1) - worse on the port side. I tried to remove and although it lifts a little on the port side overall it is stuck fast and I am worried that I might damage the Bravo if I get more enthusiastic with the hammer and chisel. I have tried a little heat and gouged out a channel but most is stuck fast.

So - remove or refix?

If I remove it (LWP intake on the Bravo is untouched and in good condition) how do I get it off without damaging the drive?
The other option is to clean the union and inject west system epoxy to hold it back on? Maybe use chemical metal to make a better union at the water intake to get better flow?

any advice as always much appreciated.

How much heat did you put on it? If it is epoxied on, then a torch will burn the epoxy and it should fall off. Make sure the heat is concentrated on the cone. With the epoxy between the cone and the bullet, and you use a good torch it should warm the epoxy before it gets to the bullet. The hotter it is the faster the epoxy will melt. You could also pour water over the bullet.
One issue is if the cone was tacked on. You would have to find that area and cut it with a cut off wheel and be careful not to damage the bullet.
If it were me, I would burn it off and start over or leave it off. The bullet is pretty thick in the front and there is some distance from the bearing and propshaft inside the bullet.

Hope that helps.
Dick.
