what mercury racing drives are these?
A friend of mine bought a lot of stuff at an auction and called me to tell me there were mercury racing drives in there and wanted me to buy them. He offered me what seems like a decent price, but I was wondering exactly what they were. Also in the pics I noticed the lower units were missing the shaft for the prop, so who knows what else is missing. The skeg on one is damaged, but I am friends with a guy who does a ton of skeg repair for these type of drives right here in my town, so getting it fixed will cost me some beers and pizza.
What are they and what would a good price be for them. I have two thoughts for them depending on if it's worth it or not. 1) sell one to hopefully make enough money to get the other to a complete usable form for a future project boat or 2) sell both for a little more than I pay, hopefully making it a great price that will sell everything fast and make myself some gas money http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps540e9ab5.png http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps1d43de97.png http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps7f34b50f.png |

J/k those are ssm 6 drives |
Btw, highly NOT recommended to repair a skeg on a #6 drive they are surfacing drives snd the skeg is pretty much all you have to steer the boat

I dont see any shafts on any of them. wonder if they are just cases?

well i asked my friend some questions and he doesn't know much, so assuming they are pretty much cases with some parts in them, how much would they be worth? 3 transom assemblies, 1 inside piece, and 2 drives that are probably missing some parts? I'm looking for a price that would be a killer deal for somebody that has the know how to fix or part out and make a little for themselves too.
Looking at parts prices has me realizing that it's way out of my league to put on my boat just to replace a bravo. |
You will have to know exactly what is good and what parts are there to get a real idea on price. They need to be looked at by an expert.
