XR gear/clutch HELP!

I have a XR drive that im working on and the forward gear clutch had stuck engaged. No metal dust or shavings when drained and disassembled, gears look fine, but still can not get the forward gear clutch to release and off of the clutch shaft. Any suggestions or experiance with this issue? Thanks!

Was the cone locked to the gear? The gears should all come off the shaft. The cone is what couples the gear to the shaft.

Yes the cone is still engaged with the forward gear and holding it all on the shaft. I think Im going to have to put some heat to it.

usually when that happens they spin weld themselves together and are not coming apart, happens when shifting at too many rpms can try a press but gear could br damaged

I got it loose! Thanks guys. No damage at all to the gears or clutch. Not really sure exactly what caused this. Im thinking about hand lapping the clutch and cone/gear together to make absolutely sure no high spots. Thanks again!

Look at the area where the clutch shaft collar contacts the bottom of the gear.

I had one off a buddy's boat that was stuck, had to press it apart,..... it was galled up on the bottom( inside) of the gear and on the clutch shaft collar where
the two mate when it is in gear.

Basically, the galled surfaces were acting as a "lock washer".
