Why wont the tilt and trim come up on my lower unit?

It's more than likely a bad solenoid. You can test and ascertain if this is the problem by jumping the solenoid terminals with a short wire or a screwdriver.

There are two solenoids on your trim pump in the bilge.
One for up.
One for down.

You are somewhat in the right length of in service time to lose one. (5-8 years of viable use)

They are about $25 bucks from any Mercury dealer, and are fairly simple to swap out. If replacing one, go ahead and replace both of them.

I have changed both of them last night and still no luck.

I think I just possibly figured it out. The trailering switch in the dash was burned out.

I've heard that many times, never had to do it.

I'm assuming you jump the terminals of the blue and green wires?

Do you need a second person to hit the switch at the same time?

Just jump the two bolts across the solenoid.
We even rigged up two wires out sticking out of an engine hatch once and arced them when needed so a buddy could finish a poker run.
