24/7 arneson install questions
Iv seen lots of treads started about a surface drive on a 24/7 boat but have never seen it actually done. So I went for it, I have a late 70's 24 superboat and am now the proud owner of a 1721 drop box drive. I just picked the boat up from the fiber glass guy and had a new transom put in it. My main question is about drive height, I'm under the impression I should mount the drive as low as I can get it in the hull. Is this correct? And better ideas?

so I guess I'm on Track with getting it as low as possible?

Yes, the only concern is that the drive is/does not drag in the water.
Improvements, our standoff box makes things easier and better for the boat |
My boat was already set up to have a trans so i would like to keep the motor towards the front. I herd it said that the trs superbaots handle beter that the bravos due to the motor being forward
|
?? I would say opposite especially as the engine placement with a Bravo drive unit is some 9" farther aft than a TRS drive.
With the Arneson the standoff box provides much better CG for the boat. |
