so many threads in the spring. my drive won't go down...it takes a lot of pressure to hold drive up against engine power so the up circuit is very robust. it takes virtually no pressure to lower it since engines are pushing down anyway so down circuit is much weaker. they all stick a little after 4-6 months. let em stick where the trim pump can deal with em...

Also the trim cylinders will be retracted, so less likely to get rusted or damaged shafts.

Those items where built to be underwater, the best reason is the bellows are not stretched out all winter.

More importantly is that the exhaust hub won't fill with water and freeze, had an early freeze one year and it wrecked a perfectly good lower unit.

I was always told to keep them stretched, so they dont crack the next year when you do stretch them.......
