Dry sump SSM 5's

Is there a way to dry sump 5's, and if so what are the gains.

Tom Gentry did it for race boat back in the day. why would you want to there is very little loss with oil.

use synthetic oil like torco MTF its thin like water.

agreed... the Synthetic racing gear lube is very thin and has much less parasitic drag

If anyone can pat Weismann of traction products Costa Mesa ca can. He developed the first 6 drive total drive sump drive. We run them on our race boat. Super sharp drivetrain guy.

Pat is the only one that has ever dry sumped a number 4 drive that was back in the day for Victory team.

Don't remember the exact gain but they were never lost a race when running at the finish.

A wet sump #6 consumes about 55-70hp.
A dry sump # 6 only 12hp.

I believe the earlier SSM drives (III IV V) eat up about 75 hp.

I think dry sumping one would be some nice free HP

if it's 50 hp at the prop gain then could be worth it. But not for 10k per drive
