If anyone can pat Weismann of traction products Costa Mesa ca can. He developed the first 6 drive total drive sump drive. We run them on our race boat. Super sharp drivetrain guy.

Pat is the only one that has ever dry sumped a number 4 drive that was back in the day for Victory team.

Don't remember the exact gain but they were never lost a race when running at the finish.

A wet sump #6 consumes about 55-70hp.
A dry sump # 6 only 12hp. http://www.mercuryracing.com/sterndr...han-you-think/ I believe the earlier SSM drives (III IV V) eat up about 75 hp. I think dry sumping one would be some nice free HP |
if it's 50 hp at the prop gain then could be worth it. But not for 10k per drive
