Bravo One Lower Shift Cable Tool

Can someone tell me the thickness of the plate that goes on the lower unit to adjust the shift cable with the drive off? I figured I can make one cheap.

Such an easy tool to buy even Sierra has them for cheap. Just saying

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same tool. The tool I'm taking about is just a plate the the cable slides into a slot on the outside of the transome. Not the tool that is used in the engine bay, that one I have.

I have worked on a boat or 2 in my day. I think I am on the same page as you. if I am following along correctly here is your help and I seen them for brand new 25 bucks as well. I would nt even turn on my power drill or power saw to cut a hunk of metal for something I can buy under 40 bucks. Just saying. and just messin with you.

also my cost is under that to for brand new and I am talking about the 25 bucks. Like I said a cheap tool to buy and never leave home to get it.

John I already have the tool to adjust the cable on the engine.. I have this one.http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-MerCruis...835d2c&vxp=mtr

I was just looking for the plate thickness of the bottom plate in your link. I have scrap metal in my basement. It wouldn't take much to run a sazall blade down a piece of metal, just to hold the cable in place. It looks like it is 1/8"thick..

Thanks for the link

I know that's why I post the link and I was really just messing with you. If you want I can measure it later and post.. I have a couple in my garage and some still in the package. Post back if you want me to measure it later.

John if you wouldn't mind could you post the thickness of that plate? I don't mind buying tools but this is just a plate I know I have sitting in my basement lol. I just bought an alignment tool, gimble bearing installer, bellows tool, water inlet tool, shifter adjuster. I think I have more coming but don't remember lol. Problem is I will hopefully only use these tools once. :)

I can't gauge your kidding in your posts but the just messing with you helps. On the phone talking to you was a little easier.lol

Thanks
