nose cone repair

Hi everyone, I recently lost a chunk of the putty, filler that was installed on my drive when they installed my nose cones. I sanded the area down to bare metal and used marine tex as a filler. The stuff worked great but I can;t seem to get it perfectly smooth. I had to use a sander with this stuff. Is there another type of filler, putty that I can put over the top of this to fill in some spots. Something that is easier to smooth out by hand

Thanks

All metal is what I used.

It sanded smooth just fine after it dried when mounting the cone.

What epoxy did you guys use to adhere it to the lower.

Only a piece of the old putty came out. I am not installing new cones. I already fixed it with marine tex. That stuff dries like steel. What can i use to finish it ..? and make it smooth with no uneven spots

We both used All Metal.

The confusion was that we didn't answer your first question.

You can use marine tex as well. That is what Hydromotive used to give you with their kit. Worked well more me.

just use a right angle grinder-sander to rough shape it before trying to worry about smooth finish. otherwise you will be sanding all day...

+1, That stuff is harder than the aluminum case, be careful finishing.
