Who is the best source to rebuild an XR?
 

Who is the best source to rebuild an XR and what is your expectations? I am buying a new XR and I want to rebuild my old one to have a spare. What hours do you expect to get out of a rebuild? I have a 42 fountain with staggered 525 efi's. Fluids will be changed every 25 hours. Run in fresh water 90% of the time.

In Texas I would try Victory Marine, there may be others in your area.

From the price coastal marine posted the other day, (52xx) shipped I wouldn't bother rebuilding. I rebuild them and if I needed a full rebuild, upper lower gears bearings etc it would cost almost that much

5200 is just the upper.

If you are only refreshing your used XR and gears are good it won't cost all that much, Gears are very expensive, have it checked out first,
then decide which is best.
