Shimming TRS PropShaft Carrier

Shimming TRS PropShaft Carrier
I have 1976 TRS drives and I'm changing the prop-shaft seals and bearing. I have been reading that it's better to shim the carrier like the older drives rather than use the crush ring. I can not find any info on what shims or backing ring to use. Any ideas?
I worked on drives for 30 years and can 't ever remember not having the crush ring in them. Would shims from an Alpha work?
Thanks, Einar

Thanks Rookie but no. Those go behind the bearing races. The ones I'm talking about go between the Carrier and the Housing. They would adjust how for the carrier goes into the Gear Housing. They would replace #22 in the list there.

I'm pretty sure that is the same shims as an early Bravo. The load ring is the same as the TRS.
