Isco drive slow to engage

I have a pair of IMCO drives on my boat. One of the drive has become slow to engage in forward. Its about 1.5. to 2 seconds slow than the port side. I have adjusted by drive cables to make sure there is no play but that did not work. Anybody tell where else I need to look.

Thanks for the help.

Worn clutch cone is usually the issue. Did you just change the drive fluid over to synthetic?

dives only have less than 100 hrs on them so I don't think I could ware a cone that fast. and I believe he replaced the fluid with synthetic but I will ask.But if it was an oil thing wouldn't effect both drives?

if one cone is worn more than the other it will delay engagement only on that drive especially with synthetic oil.
