it's on the right side of gimball bearing in the upper section
the drive oil hose connects to this adaptor down to the bell housing
how do you take it off? unscrew? pull it? drill it?

There is a c-clip on the end inside the boat( straight end) . Remove and push through assembly. Sometimes held in by corrosion , may take some effort. Dont damage surfaces o-rings contact.Good Luck!!!

thanks! luckily there are not much corosion anywhere so it should be simple!

PARASAIL941 06-30-2016 04:40 PM

Why did you have to bring "simple" into this! Just kidding , I've had some take 15 min , others a couple hours.....

What is the real purpose of those small steel cable hooked between lets say the bell housing attached to the gimball? Is it like making a ground thru all components so the anodes do their job better? Or is it to secure the parts in case it breaks so you dont loose it in the water?

Grounding only- They aren't strong enough to hold anything.
