Bravo drive with 575sci
Question for you guys should i stay with Bravo outdrives with HD internals with Mercury 575sci? Also would nosecone or a shortie lower unit be worth it? It is a 35 Fountain lightning btw
Thanks |
Interested here. What do you run with the 575s as is?

The '02 Fountain Lightning I just sold had XR's with Hydromotive nose cones. I had it to 98mph. New owner pushed it to crack 100mph (GPS) last week.
575's Mild roller cam Small blower pulley (AZSM) Eddie Young ECU tuning 32' Maximus props (I believe is what new owner put on it) Fast f*n boat! |
I just sold my 02 Lightning 35 with 575s. New cam, smaller puullys and Teague Super Chillers. Did 109mph at sea level and 98mph at 5,100 feet. XR drives with Imco lowers 30" 5 blade Maximus lab finish from BBlades

Did super chillers fit under the hatch?

Had an 03 35 with AZSM upgraded 575's. Added nosecones to stock XR lowers, ran Mercury labbed 32 Maximus at 103mph.
Before adding nosecones, with stock 32P Bravo props, the boat would stop accelerating but would still increase rpm's once I got into the mid 90's. Added the nosecones and 5 blade props and gained top speed as well as better cruise speed at 3500rpm. Purchased -2 Imco lowers but never installed them as the boat got traded towards my current ride. These boats have a pretty high X dimension, I don't think the couple mph gained up top would have been worth the decrease in driveability. Never had any drive failures, did swap gears and shim drives every other year. Next owner of boat never broke a drive either, last we had talked. |
I ran a 97 Awesome Cat with 625's with Bravo's with no issues. I wasn't out racing all the time, but from time to time I would run up over 100mph. Never hammered it hard, always eased into it.

Maximus's will run slower with the -2 IMCO lowers, they will run better with standard length drives. Bravo IX conversions are always an option, rated at 1200 HP, All American Drive in Adrian Michigan can take care of that for you.

How difuclut was it to install the nose cones also what did you have to do with the low water pickup
