Default Bam Transmission Repair? - Where in Texas or Louisiana?

I have to get my BAM transmission repaired. Clutch plates are extremely warped. I think it is a Velvet Drive. Not Sure till I pull the engine out. I am trying to avoid shipping my transmission to Florida and I would like to drive to a location that can fix it. Is there anyone other than BAM Marine that can repair these transmissions for high performance applications, put them on a bench and test them that is located not too far from Houston, TX? Thoughts? Should I only trust BAM Marine?

Any reputable local transmission shop could rebuild a velvet drive. Their not rocket science.

BAM will be fair and much of the cost will be based on what needs to be replaced and some additional work if you are going to add clutch plates. Any cost difference should be mostly the freight.

+1 for sending it to bam. He's a member here, he might even see this post and chime in. Mbam is his user name.

Thanks for the input. I am going to send it to BAM. I did not want to deal with shipping, but BAM should do it right. I have had my share of rip off artist. It's hard to find an honest company that does good work. BAM seems to have a good reputation.
