Mercruiser came out with a new slid on coupler to the alignment tool in 2007 that many do not know about period including dealers. Its used for alphas and another one used for bravos that helps with better alignment. You still need the Merc alignment tool when using the new coupler slipped on.

Its not what is posted in the ebay link above as those coupler tools are for installing gimbal bearing, and another one for installing U joint bellows and the third coupler is for installing the grease seal.

Also the Merc ITS Alignment tool works great for bravo non ITS apps as well I like that as well

You can to use it for alignment, and installation, but then again I don't everything like u....GEEEEEEZZus

THIS IS FOR A NEW SET OF TOOLS: ALIGNMENT TOOL, GIMBAL BEARING DRIVER, SEAL DRIVER, BELLOW RING DRIVER, HINGE PIN TOOL, PLUS EYE BOLT.

Not sure but I think your asking about the plate tool 91-863372 which slides on the alignment bar and into the drive bell housing. This will show a gap if its not dead on aligned. You then can move the motor mount

I know that for the long alignment bar only but he was asking about totally something else ie: the coupler I was talking about IMO. If not I was trying to give darn good added info on top of for whomever as I always try to do -- plus the info about the coupler what I think he was asking about or for whomever wants that info.

Now have to asking - why yell at me and the geeeezzus ? whats that about ?

Yes, it does. This is why I bought it. Use to slide the bar in and try to decide what needs to move where. Installing this, tells me which way to move the mount. It works better then anything else I've used.

Merc stuff was an old link. This new Mercruiser coupler tool came out in 2007 / 2008 that AD posted a pic of and myself was talking about. FWIW. The link for Merc Stuff was just showing how that older tool is set up per apps.

now i need one, thank you

AllDodge 01-25-2017 06:37 PM

Trying something to see if it works. I uploaded the pic to iboats to see if it would transfer here

http://forums.iboats.com/filedata/fe...edataid=257917

Cool appears to work

I had a machine shop make one for me. That is how I figured out that my rear engine mounts had sagged. The tool doesn't fit the helmet properly if things are not perfect.
