SCX Upper to Xr lower
Question, Will an IMCO SCX Upper bolt onto a Bravo XR Lower without an adapter or any special parts needed.
Thanks |
If I'm right you need another vertical shaft kit ( shaft and bearings )in the lower , maybe give Imco a call to ask if so I probably have it on the shelf for you unused cheaper then Imco sell it for .
Pm your email or mobile I can send you pics and part # Thx bor |
needs an adapter sleeve, around 200 bucks if memory serves.

Not worth risking running metal off those junk xr gears through your beautiful upper, or even worse.....
|
You'll need an adapter spline coupler, that's it.
I put one on an SCX this summer because the boat lost 10mph with the SCX lower and the owner didn't want to fuss with it. I'm not a big fan of the SCX lowers due to the speed loss I've seen on a few boats. |
This helps a lot,, thanks to everyone for all the help.

I ran XR lowers on mine, then went with the imco SC lower -2 and picked up 4 mph

I'm eventually going to switch from my XR to the SCX. Did you ever have issues with the XR lowers? And how did going shorter affect the rest of the boat?
Getting on plane, manuevering,etc...? Thanks Michael |
