Konrad 540 HP

Been looking but can't find any Konrad 450s or the 540 hp used any place. Are there just not many out there? I want keep my transmissions but would like a better driver than a TRS.

there rare to find, been looking for a friend of mine for two + yrs.........he'd like to have SSM 4's or 5's but doesn't want to cut the transom.

People who buy konrad rarely part with them. They are committed long term to their TRS boat and are ok with the performance they get from the boat. Not looking for every mph they can squeeze out of it. I guess the fact they all keep them is good advertising. What about the guy building shorty bravo lowers for TRS uppers? SlowRyd.

Twin gen 1 alphas both turn props the same way. My 27 nova, I never noticed any difference.

only fix was a reverse rotating motor. will pass on that lol. may just have to save up for new ones. I am ok with the performance and committed to the boat for sure. also like the smoothness with the trans.

caseyh 08-21-2017 03:11 PM

11,995 for the 540 and 500 extra for the Hp lower and steering bracket per drive for new ones.

And I am not sure that would work. The trans is obviously fine with it, but has anybody ever run a TRS upper backward? And TRS has an oil pump. Don't know, yet how it works or where it is, but I betcha it has to turn the correct way.

caseyh 08-21-2017 06:45 PM

Yeah that i don't know. At 13,000 for all the bells and whistles a drive I'll keep trying to find a doner boat.

Full Force 08-21-2017 08:18 PM

Cannot spin TRS upper backwards or the trans.... hence the issue....

The pump is the coupler between the upper and lower. It has a piece of round stock spiraling around it that moves the lube up from the lower. Then there's a passage running parallel to the vertical shafts where it returns to the lower. Yes it would have to turn the correct way for the spiral to work but that could be easily modified.

Finding used Konrad drive is hard but they are out there my friend Terry bought a pair from Brian who raced the Konrad Fountain. Terry is restoring his Excalibur Executioner replacing the Merc Speed II drives that are getting harder to find parts for. . I cant wait to see how it performs with these drives & with his new non turbo 650hp big block Chevy engines.

You are correct looking for Konrads HP lower.
if they are not the hp lower do not buy. Go fast Konrads need the bullet lower. My 2 cents.
