New Bravo XR diesel

It sounds like there is a new XR drive out for diesels. Anyone know anything about them?

Unless there is something out there I don't know about, it's the same as the regular XR aside from the decals.

I spoke with a merc tech and they said this drive was newly designed to stand up to the new merc diesel packages (tdis I guess). He said they're beefed up a bit and have more oil capacity. In the past, I was told to stick with helical gears (Bravo 2X) with my Yanmar 6lps, but these XRs are supposed to better handle the diesel torque. Sounds like they are new this year.

Hmmmm, Do you think you can get a part number or a link to the specs?

Just a thought about Merc tech's and not saying the one that was contacted was not 100% correct, but, many have found that the answer you get depends on which tech the issue is discussed with. Some are willing to say I'm not sure and find some help, others are not.

looks like they paired an XR upper to a B2 lower. We'll see, I guess...

From what I was told by Merc Racing, do not have a name, was that the Bravo 1 XR Diesel with dual water pick up in a 1.50 ratio was exactly the same as any other Bravo 1 XR inside. The only difference was the decal applied when manufactured. I also had this confirmed by an individual using Merc Racing tech info, using the serial numbers from my new XR's. My XR's have and are decaled as Seacore option as well and were purchased thru Bam Marine. Mine are not the Bravo 2 lowers but I would bet that you might find that version on Merc Racings site.

BTW the customer service and delivery thru Bam Marine was very professional, second to none on my purchase.
